Acrylic on Canvas

Unframed, sides are gallery-finished and come ready to hang

50 cm (W) x 50 cm (H) x 4cm (D)

The Paper Crane symbolizes honour, good fortune, loyalty and longevity. These formidable characteristics give the crane such special meaning and why the Japanese believed that anyone with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 origami cranes would be given good fortune and granted a wish.

This piece has been inspired by the Story of 'Sadako Sasaki: and the thousand paper cranes'

'My Origami Sweethearts' has a base layer of torn music sheet paper glued onto the canvas. I then build up layers of shading with pencil for the delicate facial features, pointillism with acrylic paint for her hair and the background which gives each piece texture and depth.

PLEASE NOTE -  any in situ images of this artwork are to offer decor, installation and framing examples only and are not to exact scale, so please do check the dimensions before purchasing.

Signed and dated on the back and comes with a Certificate of Authentication.

This piece is created on a 40mm frame-wrapped canvas, sealed with fixative and a triple gloss coat, gallery-finished edges, ready to hang.

Before Purchasing this piece, I highly recommend you read the Shipping and Returns Page HERE
